The Tenth App Community app for iPhone and iPad

The Tenth is an invite only social media platform for civil discourse and information sharing. If you are a person who wants to exchange ideas with individuals on all sides of an issue, this is the community for you. Key features include:

1) 100 character minimum to post a comment.
2) The ability to vote people off the platform.
3) The ability to invite 10 other people to join the platform.


The Tenth refers to W.E.B DuBois theory of the “talented tenth”. Essentially, in 1903, DuBois thought the 10% of black people who were able to receive a formal education would be the ones who advanced the “negro race” through the problems of the 20th century.

Obviously, this platform is not only for black people but, DuBois provided some inspiration for its creation. The Tenth App believes the nuanced 10% of people on the Internet, who welcome discussions from all viewpoints, will be the catalysts which tackle the world’s problems in the 21st Century.

Social Media forums like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, etc. are obsolete because conversations devolve into anarchy. Many do not post on these platforms because the most active individuals are often the least nuanced and/or offer little to no value to the conversation.

Therefore, we wanted to create a space where people can have open and honest conversations with other individuals who crave civil discourse. Through these discussions we believe people will grow and understand all sides of an argument.

The Tenth App is the place for civil discourse and information sharing. So PLEASE bring your thoughts and push yourselves and those on this platform to more enlightened places.
